Changing Lives, One Community at a Time

Every project we implement is more than numbers, it's about people, families, and communities whose lives are transformed. Our impact stories highlight the voices and experiences of those who have benefited from our programmes.

Saving Lives Through Swift Response

When 32-year-old Garba collapsed at home in a suburb of Minna, his family feared the worst. With no means of transportation and the nearest hospital miles away, they felt helpless. Within minutes of a call, however, our free ambulance service arrived.

The trained emergency team provided immediate first aid and transported Garba safely to the hospital, where he received urgent care. Today, Gaba is back on his feet, grateful for the service that saved his life.

Community Impact

Since its launch, the free ambulance service has:

  • Responded to hundreds of emergency calls across communities.
  • Provided safe transport for pregnant women in labour, reducing maternal risks.
  • Ensured children with critical conditions reach hospitals in time for treatment.
  • Built trust in health systems by showing communities that help is available when they need it most.

"Without the ambulance, we would have lost him. This service gives us hope and saves lives." – Garba's brother

Maternal and Child Health

Kande's Story – Safe Motherhood in Guni

When Kande became pregnant with her second child, she worried about access to care. Through our maternal health outreach, she received antenatal services, health education, and safe delivery support. Today, both mother and baby are thriving, and Kande has become an advocate for maternal health in her community.

Immunisation Campaigns

Protecting Children in Katsina – In partnership with the Emirate Council, our immunisation drives reached thousands of children who had previously missed routine vaccines. Parents reported greater confidence in health services, and communities celebrated healthier, stronger children free from preventable diseases.

Learning in the Midst of Crisis

When devastating floods swept through Mokwa community in Niger State, homes and schools were destroyed, leaving children without a safe place to learn. Rather than allow education to stop, our Education Beyond the Flood initiative created makeshift classrooms in community halls.

One of the children, Halima (age 10), had lost her home and schoolbooks in the flood. Through the initiative, she joined a temporary class where volunteer teachers provided lessons, psychosocial support, and hope. Despite the challenges, Halima now dreams of becoming a teacher herself, inspired by those who stood by her during the crisis.

Community Impact

  • Over 500 children resumed learning in safe makeshift classrooms.
  • Teachers received support to continue lessons despite damaged infrastructure.
  • Parents expressed relief that their children's education was not interrupted.

"Even after the flood, my daughter still goes to school every day. This gives us hope." – Halima's mother

School Conditional Cash Transfer: Breaking Barriers to Education

For many families in rural Niger, poverty often forces children out of school. Through our School Conditional Cash Transfer programme, parents receive financial support on the condition that their children attend school regularly.

Abdullahi (age 12) used to miss school because his parents needed him to help with farm work. With the cash transfer, his family can now afford basic needs without sacrificing his education. Abdullahi attends school daily, and his grades have improved significantly. His parents proudly share that he is the first in their family to stay consistently enrolled in school.

Community Impact

  • Attendance rates in participating schools increased by more than 40%.
  • Families reported reduced financial stress and greater motivation to keep children in school.
  • Children gained confidence and hope for a brighter future.

"Now we don't have to choose between food and school. My son can do both." – Abdullahi's father
