PRIMERS

Strengthening Nigeria's Emergency Medical Response

The Prehospital Medical Emergency Response Scheme (PRIMERS) is an innovative, community-based ambulance service implemented by Goodman & Hope Global Nigeria (GHGN) in collaboration with Afakalkhayr Global Health Nigeria (AGHN), under the supervision of NEMSAS and the Niger State Ministry of Health.

PRIMERS provides free, rapid, and reliable prehospital emergency care to bridge the gap between the point of incident and the point of treatment. Through a network of GPS-enabled ambulances, trained Basic Life Support responders, and a 24/7 coordination centre, the programme aims to reduce emergency response times by over 80% and save thousands of lives in Niger State.

By integrating technology, partnerships, and local capacity-building, PRIMERS is creating a scalable model for Nigeria's Emergency Medical Service system, demonstrating how collaboration and innovation can transform health outcomes and ensure timely, life-saving care for all.

Beyond the Flood Initiative (BFI)

Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives

The Beyond the Flood Initiative (BFI), implemented by Goodman & Hope Global Nigeria (GHGN) in Mokwa Local Government, Niger State, is a multi-sectoral humanitarian programme designed to support communities devastated by flooding.

BFI integrates healthcare, education, and social protection to restore dignity and stability to affected families.

  • The Health BFI provides essential medical services and disease prevention for displaced populations.
  • The Education BFI ensures learning continuity for children through makeshift classrooms, taught by volunteer teachers selected from among the victims, who receive conditional cash transfers as support and incentive.
  • The Social Protection BFI offers targeted cash-for-food assistance, sanitary products for adolescent girls, and clothing relief to meet urgent needs.

By combining compassion with accountability, BFI empowers flood-affected households to rebuild their lives while strengthening resilience and community recovery.

HOPE

Household Opportunities and Pathways to Empowerment Programme

The HOPE Programme, an initiative of Goodman & Hope Global Nigeria (GHGN), is a community-based social protection and empowerment programme designed to uplift poor, vulnerable, and underprivileged households.

HOPE identifies families and individuals most in need and provides conditional cash transfers (CCTs) linked to empowerment outcomes—either as seed capital for smallholder enterprises, support for vocational training, or education assistance for children and wards, including school fees and learning materials.

By combining financial inclusion with skill development and educational opportunity, HOPE promotes self-reliance, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods. The programme also strengthens community resilience and aligns with national social protection priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on poverty reduction, education, and gender equity.

Through HOPE, GHGN is helping households not only survive hardship—but build lasting pathways to a better future.

LIFE

Local Initiative for Community Health and Equitable Care

The LIFE Programme, an initiative of Goodman & Hope Global Nigeria (GHGN), delivers essential healthcare services directly to underserved and hard-to-reach communities across Niger State. Conducted on a four-weekly outreach cycle, LIFE brings preventive, diagnostic, and curative health interventions to people who otherwise lack access to care.

Through mobile clinics and skilled medical teams, the programme provides screening for viral infections such as HIV, HBV, and HCV, and non-communicable diseases including diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and sickle cell disorders. Individuals identified are promptly linked to appropriate treatment and follow-up care within the public health system.

In addition, LIFE offers point-of-care diagnosis and treatment for common illnesses like malaria and diarrhoeal diseases, reducing avoidable morbidity and mortality.

By strengthening community-level primary healthcare, the LIFE Programme embodies GHGN's mission to advance equitable, inclusive, and sustainable access to quality healthcare for all.

LEAD

Leadership, Education, and Advancement in Development Programme

The LEAD Programme, an initiative of Goodman & Hope Global Nigeria (GHGN), is a capacity-building platform designed to nurture the next generation of public health leaders and professionals. Implemented in collaboration with Ranc Orbit International (ROI) and Edge by MIMA, LEAD delivers structured training workshops, seminars, and public speaking sessions across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The programme focuses on equipping young and emerging public health practitioners with the knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence needed to drive impactful health interventions and strengthen Nigeria's human resource for health.

Through experiential learning, mentorship, and peer engagement, LEAD empowers participants to become advocates for change, innovators in health delivery, and resilient contributors to national health development.

By investing in youth capacity and leadership, the LEAD Programme is building a sustainable foundation for Nigeria's future health workforce.
